Wolverhampton Cricket Club celebrates more success
Our club women's team, having won all of their group matches in the West Midlands Super 8's League and as such, have qualified for the finals at Halesowen Cricket Club, which is to be played on Sunday 1st July. Fixtures are follows:
Sunday July 1st: 11am Wolverhampton v Pershore 2pm Berkswell v Bloxwich.
Winners in final at 5pm
Wolverhampton Cricket Club and Wolverhampton Girls’ High School . Whilst our the women's 1st team are doing so well ,the schools U-13 and U-15 girls’ teams are both celebrating a successful period too!
Both teams reached the Staffordshire County Lady Taverner's finals, which were held at Wolverhampton Cricket Club on Wednesday 20th June. The U-13 narrowly failed to reach the final game but the U-15 won both of their matches to qualify for the final.
As a result, they are County Champions and were appropriately the first recipients of the Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy. The competition was sponsored by Wolverhampton Wanderers whose representative presented the trophy. This will be competed for each year. The U-15 team will now go onto regional finals against other county school winners.
Good luck to the U15's!
