What’s Been Happening at WCC?
Over the winter months we have acquired a new sound system, funded by an ECB grant and a generous donation from one of our members, Philip Court.
We now have good sound in all our rooms so it’s goodbye to the snap, crackle and pop we’ve been getting from our microphones on presentation evenings. Inside the pavilion some useful projects have been undertaken.
Again with the help of grant funding, we had a new changing room for our women cricketers at the end of last season and whilst we were engaged in all that, it seemed a good time to look at our club kitchen. Utilising the downstairs kitchen from our retired groundsman’s former flat, a storage room has been created to allow more space in the club kitchen.
A new kitchen has been fitted upstairs in the flat and some redecoration has taken place, with the help of willing (sort of) volunteers; committee members Liz, Heather, Clare (pictured) Jayne and Marion, plus Chris Bowyer doing the worst job – ceilings!
Work has begun on painting the outside of the pavilion by decorator, Ian Bartlett. This is a job that really needed to be done so we’re pleased it’s underway.
